What is the procedure like?

01

Orthodontic preparation

  • In many cases, prior orthodontic treatment is required to align the teeth before surgery. It can be through Invisalign or Brackets.
  • In certain patients the Surgery First protocol can be applied, performing surgery first and then orthodontics.
02

The surgery

  • It is performed under general anesthesia and usually requires an overnight stay.
  • Surgical intervention corrects the position of the mandible and/or maxilla. It can be performed on one (monomaxillary surgery) or both structures (bimaxillary) and on the chin (trimaxillary or bimaxillary + mentoplasty), depending on the case.
03

Recovery

  • Recovery may include inflammation and temporary discomfort.
  • Medication and specific care will be prescribed during the first week.
  • After two weeks, you will be able to progressively resume your usual activities.
04

Results

  • Swelling gradually subsides over the following weeks.
  • The final result becomes visible once the tissues have fully settled, revealing a nose that blends naturally and harmoniously with the rest of the face.
